Annie Henrie Nader has a unique approach to LDS art that ties together popular themes of faith, healing, and womanhood with a classic renaissance stucco painting style. Full of texture, color, and light each of Annie’s paintings invites a feeling of peace and hope into any space.

Having completed a mission in southern England and completed part of her education in England and Italy, Annie has much inspiration to draw from when it comes to her painting style. She has always appreciated religious artwork, and being a mother has granted her even more inspiration as to her subject matter. That is why, in her collection, you may notice a sizable part of her collection celebrates the beauty of motherhood.

We are so grateful for the inspiration that she brings to us and so many others. So for this blog, we wanted to focus on some classic favorites by Annie, as well as some new and upcoming pieces!

Women of Faith

Annie, like many of our artists, has had many personal experiences where she has come to know her Savior, Jesus Christ. Each painting is personal, expressing her faith in and love for God. With her LDS artwork, she adds her testimony to the stunning mosaic of powerful witnesses borne by women throughout time.

Artwork Celebrating Families

A wife and mother herself, Annie knows first hand the challenges and blessings that come from following God’s command to build up a family. Her art sheds a tender light on the definition of family. It means closeness, loyalty, and harmony. It means faith, warmth, and love.

Of course, family life is also confusing and messy. But we love Annie’s tribute to this ideal that, with time and effort, Christ can help us achieve.

Biblical Symbolism

Some of Annie’s paintings do not portray people at all. Rather, they focus on an object. And not just any objects, but common symbols we read about in the scriptures. Jesus uses many such symbols in His parables. These special paintings are free from any sort of distractions and draw our focus toward the symbol itself, giving us space to ponder on the possible layers of meaning.

Angel Paintings

Annie’s classical style of religious art lends itself well to paintings of angels. Throughout her completed gallery of biblical scenes and especially in those pieces that inspire hope and healing, you will find stunning portrayals of heavenly ministers.

Jesus Portraits & Pictures

Annie’s pictures of Jesus always illustrate the sort of power He can have in our lives. Her paintings are more than beautiful portrayals of Christ, though they certainly are that. But they show people finding comfort and peace. They show an empty tomb, promising that death is not the end. They show the garden of Gethsemane where Jesus suffered for our sins. There appears to be no picture of Christ that is not also about our story as God’s children.

Nativity Paintings

Annie’s nativity paintings have her trademark collection of textures that give each painting an almost dream-like quality. Each one captures the quiet sacredness of the night of the Savior’s birth, bringing to mind the real reason we gather to celebrate the Christmas season.
