The Provo Utah Temple, dedicated on February 9, 1972, by President Joseph Fielding Smith, is an easy one to spot. It has a unique, circular style of the architecture surrounding a spire finished in gold. Mountains stand guard behind it, creating a beautiful backdrop to match every season of the year, whether the landscape takes on the green of warmer months, Utah’s gorgeous array of colors in the autumn, or a soft blanket of snow in the winter. 

More importantly, the Provo Temple dedicatory prayer includes important promises unique to this stunning house of worship:

“We look forward to the day, O our God, when thou wilt reveal unto thy servants where other temples shall be built in all the nations where thy saints increase in numbers and serve thee in righteousness. We know that all men are thy children, and we pray for the day when all who will come may come and partake of the waters of life freely and gain for themselves the fullness of the blessings that thou hast in store for all those who love and serve thee with all their hearts.”

The flowering grounds are one of the most memorable features of almost any Latter-day Saint Temple. Spring brings out a wide variety of colors, reminding visitors of the beauty of God’s creation and of His ability to create beauty out of the winters of our own lives. 

The temple brings spiritual warmth. Even during the darkest times of life, they offer the peace and serenity of remembering that we are children of God. These summer Provo temple photos do a masterful job at illustrating the hope and light we can find, regardless of what is going on in our personal lives.
